UK officially starts internet #censorship

Dear Reader,

Do you live in the UK? Or are you visiting the UK?

Then please be aware that the UK government in cooperation with the largest four internet service providers, BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin, introduced internet censorship.

Here is the Guardian report:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/oct/11/pornography-internet-service-providers

Under the umbrella of child protection – pardon my yawning – the internet will be censored.

To access the internet without censorship

Subscribers to four of the UK’s biggest internet service providers will have to “opt in”.

You have to declare, that you “want to view sexually explicit websites”.

Naturally, that is something you cannot wait to tell the world.

Will this protect a single child? No.
Will you be able to check, what is censored? No.

But you can check your internet access, with the Netalyzr from the University of Berkeley:

I recommend, you bookmark the page and check periodically.

And maybe your prince can lend his famous costumes to your politicians?

Stand up against censorship,
